About

My name is Mark Jochim, born in the U.S.A. a half-century ago. I have lived n Phuket, Thailand, for more than a decade now, spending most of my time teaching English. I have collected stamps since childhood, but only actively began a postcard collection when I joined Postcrossing on 1 July 2006. I am not a heavy swapper, but I have amassed a nice collection over the past 10 years. I find that postcards, along with stamps, provide an excellent way to travel the world — learning about distant locations and different cultures.

I started this blog in December 2014 with the intention of sharing the postcards that I had received and purchased during the past decade and will continue to do so in the future. In August 2016, I began creating a companion website that will picture all of my postcards received through the Postcrossing project and other cards grouped by country and theme.  An announcement will be made on the blog once the site goes live.

In mid-2016, I began designing my own postcards in order to portray aspects of my current home (Phuket, Thailand) that I feel are missing from those cards sold in local shops. These are professionally printed by MOO in London and are available for trade. Please contact me with swap requests. All cards that I currently have on-hand for trade can be seen in the SWAP ALBUM and are subject to change.

Inspired by other postcard-related blogs, I would like to receive a stamped postcard from every country in the world. Would you like to help me on this task?  If so, my mailing address can be found below.  If you would like me to send you a postcard in return, please use the Contact Form below to send me your mailing address.
