In 2006, it seemed that every time I opened my mailbox I would find more postcards from Finland.  It’s no wonder that this country was the birthplace of Postcrossing.  Lahti, in the southeast portion, is nicknamed “Finland’s Chicago.”  It’s population of 103,000 makes it the eighth largest city in Finland.
